Meet the Staff of Benson Funeral Homes
Patrick Benson – Funeral Director
Patrick Benson was raised in Millbrook and attended the “Old Millbrook School” before its closure when he was in grade 2. After he attended South Cavan Public School and remains close with many of his friends he made there. Grandson to Canon Walter and Ina Dyer. Patrick is a Lions Member, Mason, Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #402 and involved with Coaching with Millbrook Minor Hockey. He is married to his wife Maggie since 1994 and has a step daughter Melissa who is a Nurse in Fernie, B.C. and two sons George who is in school and is a Goalie for the Millbrook Stars and Rory who is also in school and enjoys athletics including playing hockey for the Millbrook Stars also. Patrick enjoys camping with his family and resides at his home on loction at the funeral home. He is a 2nd generation funeral director. Coming from an extensive funeral back ground Patrick wanted to bring his knowledge and skill to the area so that residents within the surrounding communities could have their own funeral provider in the area without having to travel to other communities.
Murray Kidd - Funeral Director
Murray Kidd is a licensed funeral Director who spent over 30 years with a family funeral home provider in Peterborough and eventually employed with a larger funeral corporation. Murray brings many years of experience and caring to our firm and along with being an active volunteer and avid sportsman, maintains a large trap line (licenced trapper and successful nuisance contract trapper business). Murray also sits on several Municipal and Provincial Advisory Boards.
Chandelle Mingo – Funeral Director
Chandelle was born in Hamilton and raised in Lakefield. She graduated from Lakefield District Secondary School in 2006 and in June 2009 from the Funeral Services Education Program at Humber College in Toronto. Chandelle started at Benson Funeral Home in 2008 as an apprentice. Chandelle is a caring person who is dedicated to serving families in our community
Margaret Sanderson-Tinney - Funeral Director Assistant

Margaret has been a long time resident of Millbrook growing up in the area, serving on local Council and many Community Boards and Groups. Margaret assits us during visitations and funerals handling dontations also greeting families. Margaret began with the firm in 2006 when Benson Funeral Homes opened in Millbrook and is a great support to my family and the families we serve. Margaret also works for the Lakefield Herald Newspaper.

Sandra McEldon - Funeral Director Assistant
Sandra lives in Millbrook along with her husband Scott and 4 children. They have a beautiful property that is home to their horses and other animals. Sandra and her family are very involved in the community with 4H, school activities and involved with Millbook Minor Hockey and she also woks as a PSW. Sandra is involved with every apsect of the funeral home and is a caring asset to our firm.

Alex Ruth - Funeral Director Assistant "A" Team
Alex is a lifetime member of the community. He and his wife Margaret live on their farm in Cavan. Alex brings tremendous value to our firm with his freindly approach and caring attitute. He has been active on local Council for many years and several Commities and Boards. Alex is a Mason, a Legion Member among many other groups and associations. Alex is our hearse driver and greeter.

George Wilson - Funeral Director Assistant
George is retired from G.M. He and his wife Arlene live in Cavan. They have 3 sons who also live and are active in the community. George assists our firm in all aspects of serving our client families. George has many interests including Antique cars and tractors, and maple syrup production. George is always ready to help out whenever called upon.

Jean Lush - Hostess

Jean is an active member of St. John's Anglican Church Ida. Jean has been with our firm since we opened in 2006 and coordinates our receptions. She is a wonderful asset to our team with her pleasant and caring maner.
